Job Description

The purpose of this role will be to assist in our Corporate Department and reporting to the Audit Manager, the Senior will conduct company audits from planning through to completion.

Role & Responsibilities

• Working on audits as the audit senior
• Site visits at client’s premises and to supervise and support junior members on site visits
• Supervising and signing off the work of junior members of the audit team, reporting to the audit manager
• Planning the audit process, research, review current processes and providing recommendations to enhance the client’s policies and procedures
• Preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for nonaudit SME’s
• Reporting directly to the manager or partner as required

Desired Skills

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA or ACCA with at least 2-3 years of audit experience
• Knowledge of audit and accounting standards, in particular the requirements of FRS 102, FRS 105 and the Companies Act 2006
• Some knowledge or corporation tax desirable
• Knowledge of income tax desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of charities desirable
• IT skills including basic knowledge of Excel, Word & Outlook
• Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks or Xero
• Knowledge of Accounts production software such as CCH desirable but not essential
• Ability to show initiative and work within a team supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff
• Ability to build good client relationships
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at various levels
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload in a timely manner while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectations
